Welcome to my official website.
My name is H. W. Hanlon and
I am a writer of mainly science fiction and fantasy.
When I do writing exercises (some of which are here) I don't normally write in my chosen genre.
I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and have lived most of my life there.
Only spending a few months working away from home.
While away I started writing the first few pages of my novel 'Project Astra'.
Those pages actually started life as another story which won an award (see below).
I always keep my scribbling; you never know when you can recycle them.
In the past I have had one poem published in a local magazine
and won second prize in a Star Trek poetry competition. That
poem you will find on this website.
At another Star Trek Convention, I entered my first short story
competition and won The Best Novice Award for it.
The first chapter of my science fiction novel is also here, as is the first chapter of my fantasy novel.
